Coronavirus update 17/03/20
Following today’s statement on coronavirus by Boris Johnson, I’d like to let you know that Silverglades currently remains open!
In his statement, the PM said (and I’ve slightly edited it here for context) that:
- If you or anyone in your household has a high temperature or a new and continuous cough, then your whole household should stay at home for fourteen days.
- If possible you should not go out even to buy food or essentials, other than for exercise, and in that case at a safe distance from others. You should do what you can to limit your social contact when you leave the house to get supplies.
- Even if you don’t have symptoms and if no one in your household has symptoms, now is the time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others and to stop all unnecessary travel, to start working from home where they possibly can, and to avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and other such social venues.
- Avoiding all unnecessary social contact is particularly important for people over 70, for pregnant women and for those with some health conditions.
The PM’s full statement is available at https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-statement-on-coronavirus-16-march-2020
It should be possible to visit Silverglades and still comply with the spirit of his statement. However, please do not not visit Silverglades if you or anyone in your household has a high temperature or a new and continuous cough.
When visiting Silverglades, please bring your own hand sanitizer to use when handling padlocks on the gate and doors, and be aware that surfaces in the clubhouse and elsewhere may need cleansing before and after you touch them. If others are present when you visit, please try to keep at least 2m apart at all times, and spend as little time as possible in the clubhouse with them.
The situation with coronavirus is moving rapidly, and this advice may change.
